One of the most important events in world history occurred in Sarajevo. Archduke Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sofia were both assassinated in their car, triggering World War I. You can visit the plaque at the site where they were both assassinated. When Sarajevo was a part of Yugoslavia, they hosted the 1984 Winter Olympics. However, there was war in the country between 1992 and 1996, which resulted in a population shift of people. The war was the longest occupation for a city. Today, Sarajevo is a booming city with economic incentives.

Next is the Alta Shopping Center with 70 stores. The Alta Shopping Center just opened in 2011. If you are planning to stay in Sarajevo, bring a jacket and jeans.
