Car Hire Liege Airport

Liege airport is the largest cargo airport in Belgium and ranked 7th as a cargo airstrip in Europe by 2011. Also referred to as Liege-Bierset, the Liege airport also ferries passengers from around the country and also outside foreigners.

If you are thinking of Liege-Belgium as your next tourist destination, Liege airport is the best place to touch down. There are plenty of car hire companies within the terminal you can approach and have a vehicle organized for you in minutes. There are plenty of hotels and inns offering good rates to tourists as well and a host of shops and malls in the town streets.

Tourist Interests

Royal palaces, historical monuments and rivers snaking through the city are part of the picture that forms Liege city. The town is a beautiful place to be in the summer when the trees blossom and the streets are full of life. Most people in town are away on vacation during the summer, leaving the streets free and great for driving your car rental in.

  • Le Grand Curtius - as you hunt for attractions in your car rental, this is one great building to visit. Flowing in crimson, the building is now a museum open to the public since 2009. The art gallery housed here is over 7000years old and is great for viewing and trace the history of the town. Make sure the red building you spot is next to the town river and not near the market, because that one is the City Hall.
  • Pont de Fragnee - this bridge is the ideal place to watch the action of the town river. It is also an attraction on its own having been built in the early 19 century and went through the I World War unscathed. It succumbed to damage during the second war, but was then rebuilt. This bridge not only sets a romantic theme to any even sunset, it also takes you to Paris, to the Pont Alexandre III which has a similar built into this one.
  • Place du Marche - this used to be the main market area for the locals during the medieval period. The market was busy every day until it eventually grew smaller and was closed down. However the market fountain at the center still lives and is one of the remaining artistic mark of Jean Del Cour a 16th century Belgian artist.

Liege-Belgium in summer is the best and with your Liege Airport car hire you can travel to so many places in a day.
