Located in the beautiful country of Austria, Graz Airport serves the city of Graz , Austria It is famous for another name that is Thalerhof. It is established between the territories of Feldkirchen and Kalsdorf , almost 9.3 km in the south of Graz city. The airport started functioning with its first flight in 1914.When the Austrian airspace was reopened, a strong and broadened runway of 1,500 meters was built in Graz. In 1969, the runway was extended once again, to 2,500 meters and therefore the need of more developed and vast terminal building became essential. Hence the management upgraded it as well and a brand new structure was built having the passenger capacity 750,000 annually . This new runway got broadened last time to 3,000 meters in 1998.This was until now the latest one as well.
The ever increasing number of passenger and air traffic compelled the authorities to increase their capacity and this also gave a need of constructing a new terminal building. Different airlines are engaged at this airport almost frequently and on a regular basis. The most common include Air Berlin, Austrian airlines, Lufthansa regional, Niki, Sky airlines etc. The airport also offers money and credit facilities through ATMs and money exchanges. Further there are also tourist information centre near the terminal which helps the tourists and travelers 24 hours a day.
From transportation point of view, travelers won’t face much difficulty. The airport is easier to access because of lesser distance of about four minutes on foot. The railway station nearby is also easy to access and can allow passenger to move towards airport in just 12 minutes approximately. Over 2,200 cars bearing parking space is also provided for travelers at Graz Airport. Over all the Graz Airport of Austria offers quality and fast air service to local as well foreign travelers.
